Join us for our monthly full moon hike! This month, we will be hiking a combo of the Lakeside Trail and Savanna Loop Trail at Fort Des Moines Park, and watch the moon rise over the icy lake! We’ll stop every so often along the trail to talk about the flora and fauna we find along the trail, and other nerdy nature facts. These beginner-friendly trails meander around the lake, through woodland and savanna, and are a combo of crushed limestone and dirt trails. We will plan to hike a total of around 2 miles before returning to a shelter for hot tea and a fire!
