Mid -February got you in a rough way? Get your sunshine on and join us for our S.A.D. (Seasonal Affective Disorder) Girl Hike! A mental health and winter wellness focused hike, dedicated to combating seasonal depression and fostering mindfulness. Join us as we hike the scenic trails of Kuehn Conservation Area, delving into insightful discussions on effective strategies to uplift your mental well-being during the chilly winter months. Guides, including a licensed therapist, will share practical tips, encouraging you to embrace nature's therapeutic benefits and engage in activities that nourish your mind. Discover the power of connection, self-care, and mindfulness against the backdrop of nature's beauty.
Registration is limited to 25 folks.

Adventure Rating: Beginner
Each Wander Women event has an Adventure Rating attached (Beginner, Intermediate or Challenging) to give Wanderers a better idea of the activity level and physical requirements of the event. This Bite-Sized Adventure is rated at Beginner because our hike will take place on well groomed trails with access to modern amenities.

Commune with the Cranes

I had a wonderful time meeting other women who enjoy the outdoors. The crane experience was very special. The organizer, Jenn, was awesome she kept us on track, well fed and she has a great laugh. I hope to be able to do future trips with this group! 

Cast On & Chill: A Cozy Craft Retreat w/ Jen Geigley

It was a wonderful weekend - relaxation, new friends, good food, and lots and lots of knitting. I am so glad I went. Definitely will look forward to more activities like this.

February S.A.D. Girl Hike

Making savory s’mores was a fun event on a cool, crisp, beautiful morning in Browns Woods! The campfire was perfect for toasting the many items available to make into tasty treats. But just as wonderful was the great company of other fun women! I hope this is offered every year!

Every single Wander Women experience has been 10/10 fantastic. Good hikes, good company, good food (pie, in this case). The hosts are always communicative and fun - and do a nice job of pivoting when unforeseen obstacles get in the way. Highly recommend Wander Women!

Kristen & Kerri's Birthday Pike

We had a great time. Great tidbits of info and amazing treats!

The location was great and the hike leaders made a smooth adjustment on meetup location due to snow. It was a beautiful day and a well-thought out hike, with lots of interesting information shared. The coffee from Pammel Park and pies from Pie Bird were delicious and much appreciated. Definitely highly recommend Wander Women!

It was a wonderful time! I was a long time lurker, first time attendee and everyone was so nice, kind and inviting. Everyone had a great time and the food was tasty! I will absolutely sign up again. 

This was such a magical trip, I've told all my friends they need to try to go on a future one! It was lovely having everything already planned out ahead so that I could just enjoy the trip and not be worried about the details. My main suggestion for future trips would be to include time to do more shopping of cultural markets. This could possibly be offered as an alternative to the museums, so maybe people could sign up to either do a museum trip OR go to one of the artisanal markets in Mexico City. And see if you can encourage Joel to let the group have a few more minutes at the El Rosario shops!! This was truly heartbreaking for me, I had hoped for a bunch of unique butterfly pieces.  

Migrate with the Monarchs

Kerri and Jenn were exceptional leaders throughout the Monarch Migration trip. They gave us the opportunity of a lifetime to experience all aspects of Mexico. I felt it was an intimate and personal journey for each of the participants. From eating tacos through Mexico City to enjoying helado in a small shop, Jenn and Kerri made sure we had plenty of delicious meals and snacks. Our accommodations were also comfortable and allowed us to enjoy local attractions. The butterfly sanctuaries were the jewels of the trip, creating memorable interactions between us and these incredible creatures! I personally appreciated everyone being there and supporting one another.

Such an amazing and unique experience! Thank you for this incredible trip!

Duluth Winter Adventure

This was my first Wander Women experience and it was great! Got me outside on a brisk day with nice people, hiking a trail that was new to me. I am not great at adventuring on my own, this made it much more approachable! Thank you for helping me start the New Year right! 

January S.A.D. Girl Hike

Had an amazing time and got to make a childhood dream come true! (Dog sledding) food was great and the cabins were amazing, my husband and I plan to go camping at jay Cooke this summer because it was so nice! Thank you for a fantastic trip!

This trip was so great not even the -15 weather could keep us from having a fantastic time. Hats off to Jenn and Kerri for such impeccable planning and research. 

Awesome people.  Beautiful walk on a cold day when I otherwise would think I needed to stay in! Soup was delicious as well.

January Soup Hike

This was my first time joining this wonderful group.  Cold day, informational hike and warm soup!  Look forward yo another adventure.

So relaxing! It was so much fun getting to know everyone. Hope we cross paths again. 

Winter Yoga Retreat

The hike was VERY well organized, and I loved how the leader stopped a few times to teach us about the environment we were in. Both guides were very knowledgeable, friendly, inclusive and prepared. And the soup was great! Even on a super cold day it was worth getting out, being in nature, and meeting some new people :)

It was a wonderful weekend! I would have preferred more from the yoga instead of just the restorative/slower paced yoga, but it was still a wonderful weekend!

It was my first time with Wander Women.   My daughter suggested it as she has been on other hikes.  I was hesitant as I'm 75 but it was very enjoyable.   We were lucky to have a beautiful January day.   The hike was easy and the leader stopped periodically to share things of interest.   The campfire was great and so was the hot chocolate and hand pies.  We have already signed up for an event in February. 

Hot Cocoa & Hand Pies w/ Pie Bird Pies

Though it was very cold out our hearts were warm! I've never been to this park before so it was fun to discover a new beautiful place to be in nature. I absolutely loved all the facts and knowledge our leaders and other women offered up throughout the hike.  And the soups were so very good! The dumpling soup was amazing (I would love the recipe haha). The potato soup was cozy and delicious.

Wander Women events are always great. It's a chance to make myself get outside, enjoy the company of other lovely women, and for this event enjoy some delicious hand pies. An excellent experience!

The walk was fun, organized, and joyful to meet new women.  The pie and cocoa were delicious?  I will definitely be watching the schedule for the next time I can attend!  Thank you.

Pie lady was great, very enthusiastic. The nature nerd moments were great! The hot chocolate was out of this world. Great way to spend the afternoon.

Every hike with Wander Women is great!! The community built between women of different ages, stages, and experience always brings me so much joy. These bite size adventures are perfect for me. 

Winter Solstice Hike

This was my first adventure with Wander Women Midwest, and won't be my last! I enjoyed the people, the adjustment in plans because of ice, and the camaraderie.  

The perfect way to get outdoors on a beautiful winter solstice before the big holidays! Really enjoyed it!!

It was a hike to remember. The guide was open and welcoming to all. She explained how the hike would unfold. Wonderful experience!

It was so lovely to get outdoors, enjoy the sights, sounds, and smells of fall. Kerri was incredibly knowledgeable and personable. The soups? Amazing. No notes- I would happily sign up for any Wander Women event in the future!

Great hike.  Good pace, pauses for mini nature talks.  Enjoyed visiting with the new person I met.  Will be a returning guest!

New Moon Hike

Night hike was awesome.  Loved the intentions, the vibe of the group and the leader Jenn! My first Wander Woman event and I will definitely be coming back!

It was a cool, but lovely evening to gather around an outdoor chimney and share thoughts, anxieties, and hopes with other wonderful women. The chance to make s’mores or roast Rice Krispie treats made the evening even more fun! I love this group of ladies and appreciate all that the Wander Women organizers do to make these events so fantastic!

We had a wonderful time! We learned a lot about trees and nature. The snacks were perfect and the company was great.

Moab completely exceeded my expectations! I went solo but ended up meeting the most incredible group of people — it truly felt like a trip of a lifetime. The scenery is breathtaking everywhere you look, from red rock canyons to endless desert skies. Canyoneering, rafting, and off roading was such an adrenaline rush. The trails were unforgettable. Whether you’re going for adventure or peace and quiet, Moab delivers both in the most spectacular way. Can’t wait to go back!

This was a fun trip! I particularly liked Luna Farms and the e-bike rental. The B&B was also nice and Giada was a great facilitator. I liked that she encouraged us to do some hikes, which got me moving and justified all the eating and drinking! My only suggestion is that for meals, maybe let participants plan/prepare a couple of meals or let them make reservations for dinner out. There are so many good restaurants in Decorah and I would have liked more substantial/healthier fare for Saturday night. 

Fall in the Driftless: Decorah

There is no way I would have ever experienced Moab the way that we did on this trip. WE DID IT ALL!!!!!! There is not one thing I could have asked to have made it better- Weeelllll other than the sunset grill....If you go to Moab, go ahead and skip that place! I will be living in a moab high for at least another week thinking about all of our adventures and the most absolutely beautiful weird little souls that I had the pleasure of spending the week with. I Cannot rave about this trip and Wander Women enough. This was my 5th  trip with WW, my 2nd week long trip, and every single trip has been thought through so well and every trip has been filled with such amazing women that more times than not turn into great friends.  A lot of women come into these trips solo and nervous and leave these trips filled with so much support and empowerment, ready to book the next trip. If you are looking to get out of your comfort zone, there is no better group to do that with. I cannot wait for the next trip release! 

I had a great time! The daily itinerary was thoughtful and well planned. Food was very good. The location was spectacular! 

Adventuring with Wander Women is always a blast. I appreciate the time and energy put into planning all the major aspects of the trip. It is also adjustable to personal needs/preferences throughout. The guides create a loving and joyful space that is safe for all. 

The surroundings were beautiful, accomodations more than perfect, and food was without a doubt the best part. Only slight disappointment was our guide did not really delve into the history of the area nor explain any of the nature around us. 

Gourmet Camp Cooking - Fall

Wander Women's Backpacking Weekend at Yellow River State Forest was a wonderful adventure!  Jess was a terrific guide.  She did an amazing job leading the trip and teaching us many trip and tricks of backpacking including water filtration, packing a pack, and proper on-trail nutrition.  Yellow River is a great location for a weekend trip - you would never know you were in Iowa with its beautiful bluffs and forests.  I highly recommend this trip for both beginner and experienced backpackers!
